![]() ![]() I offered to pay for the tires, but they won’t accept that. They want my receipt, but I bought my drive cars used. I just heard that anki made softer tires for the drive cars so they can more easily be used on the overdrive tracks. I know the overdrive tires do not fit the drive cars because their rims are different. They don’t hardly pick up any dust, which is great, but they don’t grip for me past a few laps. I do know that the DRIVE cars have caused problems with others with grip issues. Maybe I clean my tracks differently? Maybe the amount of moisture in the air or temperature of where the track is located has something to do with it? I don’t know. It is interesting to hear that some don’t have problems with the Anki DRIVE cars and their original tires. I saw a variety of problems but it seems like they were mostly with iOS devices and connectivity or crashing. Were any of those things a product of 3.2? I don’t know. Lastly, I don’t like how the cars sometimes go into the blinking mode like you are off the track if you are going fast. I also don’t like how the cars tend to randomly brake sometimes for no apparent reason. Sorta same thing happens too during hyper speed races (which is my favorite mode). On time trial, I don’t like how the car goes to brake after I let go of the boost. I have not had any issues with my iOS devices or android.Īs far as handling issues, there are only a couple things that happen that I find annoying by simply deal with. It is amazing how differences in experience affect us. I’ll report if they work.Ĭurious if anyone out there has tried any other tire with success? The ST 4404 tire appears to be the exact same size as the Anki DRIVE cars so I purchased a set. Only one company out there added in all the other dimensions to their tires - that being JelClaws. I couldn’t believe how many different tire sizes are out there for slot cars.īest I could narrow it down is 1/43 scale, 16mm diameter x 8mm width tire. Figured it would be easy to find a substitute from the slot car hobby. I measured the tires and the rims of the old DRIVE cars. I’m in the process of doing that now, but I wondered if anyone has tried anything else out there. I came across a thread on google plus discussing how you could get new softer tires from Anki for the old cars. The fish tailing is way too much to use the old cars. Did all the research I could find out there and obviously I came across the bit where the older cars have tires that are too hard and won’t stick to the overdrive track at all. ![]() ![]() I recently wanted to get the old DRIVE cars. I’ve already bought a ton of track to make large tracks and the only two overdrive cars I don’t have is nuke phantom and guardian. My son and I got addicted rather quickly to overdrive ever since I got it for him this Christmas. ![]()
